Turkish ambassador to U.S. Nabi Sensoy: â€œTurkey will always continue to keep Azerbaijanâ€™s interests a priorityâ€ - <font color=red>EXCLUSIVE</font>

Our sisters and brothers in Baku can rest assuredâ€, told in an interview with APAâ€™s Washington correspondent Nabi Sensoy, Turkish Ambassador to U.S.

Sensoy mentioned that Ankara is looking forward to higher negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh.

â€œTurkey will continue its efforts aimed at active encouragement of the final solution of the conflict, based on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijanâ€, he added.

Asked about Armenian-Turkish relations, the ambassador stated that Ankara believes that it would be extremely beneficial to divert Turkish-Armenian relations into a new channel with these protocols, thereby starting diplomatic relations between the two countries, followed by the opening of the common border and the start of an exchange between them.

â€œWe think that this will prove useful not only to the bilateral relationship between Turkey and Armenia, but also in terms of making positive contributions to the peace, stability and security in the South Caucasus, especially in the region rife with â€˜frozen problemsâ€, ambassador added.

According to the Nabi Sensoy, Turkeyâ€™s expectation is that this will not have any negative impact on the bilateral relations between â€œtwo states with one nationâ€, i.e., Turkey and Azerbaijan.
