Miklos Haraszti, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, sent a letter to Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov in connection with sentencing of Azerbaijani bloggers. "I hope that the appeals court will reverse the decision and release Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade as soon as possible. This will demonstrate to the international community that Azerbaijan takes seriously the OSCE media freedom commitments it has taken upon itself," Haraszti said in his letter, APA reports quoting the OSCE website.
Azerbaijani bloggers Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizadeh were sentenced for 2.5 and 2 years of prison terms by the court decision on charges of hooliganism and infliction of light bodily injuries.
