Elmar Mammadyarov meets with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Tina Kaidanow

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Tina Kaidanow, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA. Ms. Kaidanow expressed satisfaction with her visit to Azerbaijan and said the United States was interested in further development of its relations with Azerbaijan. She said her country, as the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, was interested in the soonest solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict and was ready to make its contribution to that. Kaidanow said US administration supported positive move in both processes of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict and normalization of the Turkish-Armenian relations.

The State Department official said US administration highly appreciated Azerbaijanâ€™s contribution to the international anti-terror operations and ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov noted that Azerbaijan had close cooperation wit the United States in all spheres and it was interested in further deepening of cooperation.

Minister Mammadyarov mentioned the negotiations over the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict and described position of our country in the settlement process. Elmar Mammadyarov said the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and Turkish-Armenian normalization concerned each other and emphasized the necessity of parallel progresses in these processes. He emphasized the importance of all communications and roads for sustainable peace and stability in the region and said main condition for that is withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

Mammadyarov and Kaidanow also exchanged views on other bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
