BSEC Ministerial Council holds its 21st meeting in Baku

According to APA, after the welcoming speech by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov, the BSEC foreign ministers will discuss the increasing of effectiveness of the organization and development of its relations with other international organizations, particularly UN and European Union. The ministers will also focus on the observation status in the organization, restoration of sector dialogue with the different countries and organizations. Minister of Foreign affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov will preside over the meeting. Azerbaijan will hand over the BSEC presidency to Bulgaria at the special ceremony after the meeting. Bulgaria will take the presidency from November 1, 2009 until April 30, 2010.

Foreign ministers of the BSECO troika countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia and Bulgaria) will hold joint press conference after the meeting. Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan, Rumiana Jeleva of Bulgaria, Government Minister Victor Bodu of Moldova, General Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gazmend Turdiu of Albania, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu will attend the meeting. Russia, Greece, Serbia, Georgia, Romania, Armenia and Ukraine will be represented at the meeting by the deputy foreign ministers.
