Turkish Prime Minister meets with Azerbaijani parliamentarians – UPDATED
“The meeting with honorable Prime Minister made good impression on us. We discussed maintenance of peace, cooperation and economic growth in the region. Prime Minister reiterated the words he had said in Azerbaijani parliament. Turkey will always take Azerbaijan’s interests into account, do its best for the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict,†he said.
According to Samad Seyidov, those who want to damage Azerbaijan-Turkey relations will not achieve their goals.
“Our relations are developing and will develop on the principle ‘One nation, two states’. No one can create a problem. We love Turkey,†he said.
Touching on Turkey-Armenia relations Samad Seyidov underlined once more that Azerbaijan’s interests will be taken into consideration in the peace processes in the region.
“Prime Minister’s words will be highly appreciated in Azerbaijan. Our meetings in Turkey will continue,†he said.
Member of Azerbaijani delegation Asef Hajiyev told APA that the meeting with Prime Minister was successful. Recep Tayyip Erdogan assured the delegation that Armenia should take necessary steps after the protocols.
“Turkish Prime Minister said the heads of the leading states were told how official Ankara will act if Armenia does not take necessary steps after the protocols. Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Armenia also knows it very well. Prime Minister said: “Now it is Armenia’s turn. If Armenia will not take this step, the situation will not be good.â€
Hajiyev said they are going to meet with speaker of Turkish parliament Mehmet Ali Sahin.
On May 13, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in Azerbaijani parliament that the borders with Armenia will not be reopened unless the occupied territories of Azerbaijan are released.
