Baku – APA. A group of Azerbaijani parliamentarians are on a visit to Turkey. Turkish TV channels Star, Kanal D, CNN Turk and Haberturk, as well as Ihlas News Agency and Internethaber portal interviewed with the member of the Azerbaijan’s parliamentary group Ganira Pashayeva, APA reports.

Pashayeva pointed out that 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands is under the Armenian occupation for more than 15 years and one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and internally displaced persons, who can’t return to their homeland. She reminded that Turkey closed its borders with Armenia in a protest against its invasion in Kalbajar region of Azerbaijan. “Azerbaijan considers that Turkey must continue its policy. Turkey shouldn’t open the borders and establish relations with Armenia until the Armenia’s withdrawal from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan”, said Pashayeva.
The parliamentarian also protested the idea that the normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations will positively impact on the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict. “If the Turkey-Armenia relations are established, the Armenian president can introduce it as his success and take more radical position on the issue of withdrawal from the occupied Azerbaijani lands”.

Pashayeva also reminded about the statements of Turkish officials that the borders will not be opened until the solution of Nagorno Karabakh problem and said they hoped that the Turkish parliament would not ratify the protocols as an approval of those statements.
