Baku. Viktoria Dementieva – APA. Discussions on the theme “Azerbaijan-France relations in the context of modern regional geopolitics” were held in the Center for Strategic Studies under Azerbaijani President, APA reports. French ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller gave detailed information about the level of political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. Mentioning that Azerbaijan is located at the junction of the West and East, ambassador said Azerbaijan has strategic positions in the field of energy and as a country exporting energy resources and having transit opportunities is of great importance for Europe, including France. He said Azerbaijan’s participating in the Eastern Partnership program will have more positive influence on the development of the relations between the two countries.
“Azerbaijan is also the close neighbor of the European Union and we are interested in the peace and stability near our borders,” he said.

According to the ambassador, 25 people have recently studied in the higher schools of France and French-language courses have been organized. 30 Azerbaijani students have been sent to France through the program financed by Azerbaijani government this year.
