Nurettin Aras: â€œWe will not accept any agreement not signed by Azerbaijan and our Azerbaijani brothersâ€

â€œWe will not recognize the legitimacy of any agreement, discussion or protocol serving the aggressive intellect of Armeniansâ€

Vugar Masimoglu â€“ APA. â€œThe policy pursued for reopening the borders with Armenia damages Azerbaijan,â€ former head of Igdir municipality, chairman of Yerevan Turks Solidarity Circle Nurettin Aras told APA exclusively. He underlined that by reopening the border Turkey will be deprived of the only way of pressure on Armenia.
â€œThe only â€˜trump cardâ€™ of Turkey is the closure of the borders. If the borders with Armenia reopen before the occupied Azerbaijani territories are released, it will mean surrender to the aggressive Armenian intellect. We will not recognize the legitimacy of any agreement, discussion or protocol serving the aggressive intellect,â€ he said.

Nurettin Aras underlined that Armenia â€œcapricious child of the Westâ€ will never be able to live in peace and stability for a long time.
Armenia supported by the West should understand that it has to live in peace with neighbor nations to bring the stability to the region instead of aggressive actions. It is unavoidable for Armenian leadership to understand this reality and to take actions toward this. Armenia must withdraw from the occupied territories immediately and without pre-conditions that to be able to make contribution to the stability. We, as a population of the region, which had many troubles, are concerning over the processes going on. It is unacceptable that Armenia says Nagorno Karabakh is not a subject of discussions while Turkey makes efforts to normalize relations. There is no peace without Karabakh. Such approach can not bring stability to the regionâ€.

Nurettin Aras said no one in the region could hurt Azerbaijani people. â€œNo one can hurt our Azerbaijani brothers. Karabakh is under occupation for 17 years. More than one million Azerbaijanis are living as refugees. We will not accept any agreement not signed by Azerbaijan and our Azerbaijani brothers. We are seriously concerning about the statements on Turkish-Armenian relations. The agreement with Armenia was achieved completely within the interests of the West. This agreement will not bring advantages for Turkey, including Igdir province. I would like to repeat once again that our citizens will not accept any agreement without consent of Azerbaijan.
