PACE committees to discuss Azerbaijan’s commitments

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Chairman of the parliamentary committee for international and interparliamentary relations, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Samad Seyidov will be on a visit to France on September 6-10 to attend the PACE bureau and committee meetings. Press service of the Azerbaijani parliament told APA PACE Monitoring and Political Committees will hold meetings in Paris to discuss the situation in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Monaco, activity of democratic institutions in Armenia, Moldova, Albania and Serbia, results of parliamentary election in Bulgaria, NGO’s role in the public life and other issues. Seyidov told APA that the committee will also hold hearing on the report on fulfillment of Azerbaijan’s commitments before PACE. “The committee is not expected to pass any decision. It will only discuss the report on Azerbaijan”.

Member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Rafael Huseynov will attend the PACE committee on environment, agriculture, local and regional affairs in Paris on September 3-5. The committee will discuss the environmental situation in Mediterranean Sea, cleaning of geothermal energy, military wastes and environment, climate changes and other issues. Huseynov will make report on light and noise impact on the environment.

Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary committee for international and interparliamentary relations Gultakin Hajibeyli will visit Venice, Italy on September 8-10 to participate at the meeting of PACE Bureau special committee on combating violence against women. Gultakin Hajibeyli is a national coordinator of “No violence against women” campaign in Azerbaijan. She will inform the committee about the measures carried out in the country in this field and to learn the experience of other countries.
