Lyon lost a point due to fans’ problems, which saw Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet hit by a bottle last month, APA reports citing UnewBalance.

The Ligue 1 encounter between the two sides was abandoned nearly two hours after it was initially halted five minutes into the match on November 21.

Disciplinary Committee of the LFP [France’s professional leagues governing body] It has now been decided that the match should be replayed behind closed doors at the Groupama stadium in Lyon, and the date has yet to be confirmed.

Lyon already played a home match against Reims on 1 December behind closed doors as part of an initial measure implemented after the fans’ trouble against Marseille.

The LFP described the incident as a “cowardly attack”, while Leon said it was an “isolated act”.

Last month, French Sports Minister Roxana Marasinho said the frequent fan problems in Ligue 1 were putting the future of French football at risk.

Nice lost two points, one of them suspended, after serious accidents during their August match against Marseille.

He hit Payet with a bottle in that match before tossing a bottle back into the crowd, causing fans to storm the field.

The northern derby between RC Lens and Lille was plagued by crowd trouble in September, and the start of the second half was delayed after rival fans threw objects at each other before people ran onto the pitch, prompting riot police and referees to intervene.

There was also a problem with the masses in Montpellier, Angers, Marseille and Saint-Etienne.
