Fans of teams participating in Euro 2020 games in Baku will be able to come to Azerbaijan by land

State Border Service (SBS) has laid clarity to the issue of whether citizens of the countries, of which football clubs will participate in 4 matches of the 2021 European Football Championship to be held in Baku, and stateless persons, who live in these countries permanently, will be allowed to Azerbaijan or not through land via Georgia, Russia, and Iran on the basis of relevant documents and negative result of COVID-19 PCR test, SBS told APA.

According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan #2576 dated April 13, 2021, foreigners and stateless persons will be allowed to cross the state border from May 1 to July 5 on the basis of rules determined with the Order.

Foreigners visiting the country in connection with the upcoming European Football Championship in Baku can obtain a visa at checkpoints on the state border until July 5, 2021, upon presentation of any of the following documents:

- An official letter of invitation from the organizing committee for the games in Baku or the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA);

- Accreditation card or other document confirming accreditation in accordance with the relevant rules of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA);

- For citizens of countries representing the countries of football teams participating in games held in the city of Baku, and stateless persons permanently residing in these countries, a document confirming the purchase of a ticket for the game.

Foreigners and stateless persons visiting the country in connection with football games must submit a document confirming a negative PCR test for COVID-19, issued within 72 hours before departure.

Note that 4 games of EURO-2020 will be held in Baku. Three of the games to be held at the Baku Olympic Stadium will be group matches and one will be the ¼ final match.

In the 3 games of group A, Switzerland-Wales (June 12), Turkey-Wales (June 16), and Switzerland-Turkey (June 20) teams will meet.

¼ final round match will be held on July 3.
