Annual inflation in the eurozone reached 3.8% in September, up 0.6 percentage points from August, APA reports.
According to a preliminary estimate by the European Union’s statistical office, Eurostat, energy prices recorded the sharpest increase among the main components of inflation.
Energy prices rose by 18.8% year-on-year in September, compared with 14.3% in August.
Prices for services increased by 3.2%, up from 3% in the previous month.
The annual rise in prices for food, alcohol and tobacco accelerated to 1.4% from 1.1% in August.
Meanwhile, inflation for non-energy industrial goods slowed to 1.1% from 1.2%.
