The annual inflation in the euro area was revised down to 9.9% in Eurostat's latest report on Wednesday. In the flash estimate, released at the end of the previous month, year-on-year inflation was estimated at 10%, APA reoirts citing Tele Trader.
In the European Union, inflation stood at 10.9% in September compared to the same month in 2021. On a monthly basis, inflation rose by 1.2% in the Eurozone.
The highest contributors to the euro area inflation rate were energy, adding 4.19 percentage points, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco at 2.47 percentage points, services at 1.8 percentage points and non-energy industrial goods at 1.47 percentage points.
The euro area inflation rate excluding energy was 6.4%, while the core inflation rate excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco came to 4.8%
