As of July 1 this year, Azerbaijan’s banking sector assets increased by 12.7%, reaching 56.73 billion manat, APA-Economics reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Net loans to customers accounted for 26.78 billion manat of the banks’ assets. Over the past year, the sector’s loan portfolio grew by 11.7%, while the share of loans in assets decreased slightly from 47.6% to 47.2%.
During the reporting period, the banking sector’s liabilities reached 49.79 billion manat, up 12.9%. Additionally, the deposit portfolio grew by 6.2%, reaching 37.35 billion manat. Of the deposit portfolio, 15.6 billion manat belonged to individuals, and 22.29 billion manat to legal entities. Correspondingly, these portfolios recorded growths of 8.5% and 4.6%.
The sector’s capital balance also rose by 11.3%, reaching 6.95 billion manat.
