The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will announce the interest rate again this week, on July 23, APA-Economics reports citing CBA.
In its decision announced on June 11, the Central Bank emphasized that the decrease in uncertainties in the external environment of inflation could create a basis for reducing the interest rate at the next meeting.
Analysts note that this is a clear signal towards easing, but a decrease in uncertainty is indicated as a condition. This does not fully guarantee that the interest rate will be reduced. The CBA will keep the interest rate unchanged at this meeting, but more clear signals of easing may be given at the press conference. If the decrease in inflation continues in August-September, the first interest rate cut may take place in October.
Recall that the Central Bank has kept the interest rate unchanged since May 2024. The interest rate was kept unchanged at 7.25%, the lower limit of the interest rate corridor at 6.25%, and the upper limit of the interest rate corridor at 8.25%.
