The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Leah Gutierrez as Director General of the Central and West Asia Department, ADB told APA-Economics.
It was noted that Leah Gutierrez will lead ADB's cooperation with 11 countries, including Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that Ms. Gutierrez has more than 40 years of professional experience in total, including 25 years at ADB. Prior to this appointment, she was Director General of ADB's Sector 3 Department, which covers finance, human capital and social development, public administration and governance, and former Director General of ADB's Pacific Regional Department. Ms. Gutierrez also held senior positions in ADB's Strategy, Policy and Partnerships Department, Southeast Asia Regional Department and Secretariat.
