Azerbaijan sees growth in monetary base in December

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of January 1, 2012, the national currency (manat) monetary base stood AZN 8,275.4 mln, up 29.4% or 1,878.3 mln compared to previous year, told the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The monetary base increased by 11.6% or AZN 858 mln in December, 2012, so the 45.7% of annual growth was observed in December.

Note that, the monetary base includes currency in circulation and reserves which commercial banks hold in their accounts with the central bank.
