Armenia and Iran want to increase trade volume up to $1 billion

Baku - APA-Economics. Armenia and Iran agreed to increase the volume of trade turnover up to $1 billion, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said in an interview with IRNA agency.

According to him, the agreement was reached during recent visit of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Armenia.

Salehi characterized Armenia-Iran relations as “very special” adding that the diplomatic ties between the two countries are in its best condition.

“Armenia is an important neighbor for Iran and their bilateral relations have been improved since the Independence of Armenia from the former Soviet Union in 1991,” IRNA quotes Foreign Minister as saying.

During the recent visit Armenian and Iranian leaders discussed customs issues and finding ways for facilitating bilateral customs services, he added.
