Belarus’ inflation exceeds 100%

Baku - APA-Economics. In November 2011 inflation in Belarus amounted to 8.1% in comparison with October 2011 and 104% in comparison with January 2011, Yelena Kondratenko, Press Secretary of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, told BelTA, UkrAgroConsult reported.

In November the consumer price index for commodities and services totaled 108.1% as against October 2011 and 204% as against December 2010. In October 2011 the consumer price index was 108.2% in comparison with September. Thus, inflation has slowed down a bit within the month.

In November 2011 producer prices for industrial products went up 15.6% from October 2011, with prices for investment goods up by 9.1%, prices for intermediate goods up by 21.7% and prices for consumer goods up by 7.9%.

In November 2011 food prices went up 8.5% in comparison with September 2011 and 120.9% in comparison with December 2010. Non-food prices went up 4.7% in comparison with October 2011 and 106.7% in comparison with December 2010.

The index of prices for and tariffs on chargeable services totaled 113.9% as against October 2011 and 159.9% as against December 2010.
