Azerbaijan sees 50% rise in corporate securities market year-on-year

Baku. Nicat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. During the first half-year of 2011, corporate securities market of Azerbaijanâ€™s stock market increased compared with the figures for the corresponding period last year by 50% to AZN 331.5 mln.

State Committee for Securities told APA that, 24.3% of corporate securities is made byâ€™ shares, 75.7% by corporate bonds.

During the reporting period, primary and secondary market of corporate bonds has increased 2.2 times to AZN 250.8 mln. The growth of primary and secondary market for corporate debt instruments also continued during the 6 months of 2011. In the first half were issued new bonds for the local market with the right of conversionâ€.

During the reporting period, issue of AMF continued too and bonds were placed at AZN 41.3 mln.

â€œThe market share amounted to AZN 80.6 mln, of which 74% - primary, 26% - secondary. 92.6% of shares were issued by companies in finance sector, particularly banks and insurance companies. Despite the relative reduction in the primary equity market, secondary market grew by 32.5%â€.
