Azerbaijan gets 22% rise in positive balance of foreign trade turnover

Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. State Customs Committee says that the volume of trade operations with 141 countries reached $ 20,646.326 mln in January-July, 2011, up 32.87% compared to a year ago. During the reported period, positive balance of foreign trade turnover made $10,342.6 mln, up 21.7% from a year ago.

5,501 goods-$4,141.865 mln were imported during this period, 1,667 goods-$15,484.463 mln were exported. The import operations rose 46.59%, export increased by 28.95% compared to a year ago.

In January-July, 5,903 people were engaged in foreign economic activity. Of these, 2,768 are individuals, 3135-legal entities.

95.46% of export was carried out by state, 3.96% - by private sector and 0.58% - by individuals.

The positive balance of foreign trade made $ 8.7 bln, down 19.2% compared to the same period of 2010. $ 2.9 bln of commodity exchange was conducted with CIS countries, $14.5 – with other countries.
