Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of July 1, 2011, number of issued plastic cards made 4,393,000 in Azerbaijan, up 5.9% compared to a year ago. 2,467,000 of them are social cards, 1,325,000 – wage cards, 458,000 – other debit cards, 143,000 – credit cards.
CBA says 24,314,000 operations have been conducted via these plastic cards, and the volume of the operations made AZN 3,302 mln during 6 months, accordingly up 9.8% and 18.5%, compared to a year earlier.
Number of transactions via debit cards made 23,005,000 which makes 94.6% of total number. Volume of these operations made AZN 2,945 mln, equal to 89.2% of total volume. In turn, 1,308,000 transactions were consumed via credit cards, which estimated at AZN 356 mln.
