Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Total volume of portfolio on refinancing operations held by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan made AZN 1,996.8 mln as of June 1, 2011. Portfolio of centralized loans given to commercial banks rose AZN 675.5 mln or 51.1% year-on-year, as well as in January-May, 2011, the growth was AZN 135 mln or 7.3%.
As it seen, Azerbaijan’s banking system continues the process of buying loans from the CBA, while at present, there is liquidity problem in the banking system: “But, this factor does not concern all the banks and several banks receive loans from the CBA for different purposes and needsâ€.
