Azerbaijan’s budget surplus makes 6.5% in January-May

Baku. Vahab Rzayev - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s state budget received AZN 4.8 bln and expenditure AZN 3.7 bln and the surplus made AZN 1.1 or 6.5% billion for January-May, 2011 said the State Statistical Committee.
According to the SSC, 35.2% or AZN 1.3 bn of expenditure went to development of economy, AZN 594.5 mln (16.1%) to social protection and social security, AZN 606.3 mln (16.4%) to education ad health. AZN 1.5 bln or 41.2% went to wages, pensions, and scholars.
Compared a year ago, budget expenditure rose 3.5%, income rose 17.8%, surplus increased by 2.1 times.
Note that, according to amendments made to state budget-2011 by the parliament on May 27, the incomes were increased by 29% or AZN 15,554.2 mln, expenses by – 25% or AZN 15,941.2 mln.
