Baku to host high-level meeting uniting anti-corruption efforts of Islamic world - Deputy Prosecutor General

A total of 48 OIC member states and more than 250 participants will be represented at the high-level meeting to be held in Baku, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Mammadov said while speaking to the press about preparations for the Third High-Level Meeting of the Heads of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), APA reports.

Heydar Mammadov stated that relevant measures are being taken to ensure the high-level organization and effective conduct of the event in terms of content.

The Deputy Prosecutor General noted that, as part of preparations for the meeting to be held in Baku on October 27–28, 2026, a Local Organizing Committee has been established by a relevant order of the Prosecutor General's Office. The committee's main tasks are to ensure the high-level organization of the event, contribute to the development of anti-corruption cooperation among OIC member states, and share Azerbaijan's experience in this field with international partners.

Touching upon the number of participants and the level of representation, Heydar Mammadov stated that more than 250 people are expected to attend the event, including representatives of 48 of the 57 OIC member states. According to him, the participants include heads of 30 state institutions, ambassadors, heads and high-ranking representatives of five international and regional organizations, as well as representatives of three observer states.

Referring to the successful organization of similar prestigious events by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan in the past, Heydar Mammadov stated that the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors, held in Baku under the leadership of Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, the high-level session within the framework of COP29, the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the GlobE Network, and other prestigious international events are clear indicators of Azerbaijan's commitment to international cooperation.
