Economic Research Center says food products cheapened in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. Economic Research Center of Azerbaijan (CER) has published the results of statistical monitoring of prices in 10 regions of the country in June 2011.

Consumer prices dropped 0.11% in June in Azerbaijan. The price of foodstuffs fell by 0, 44%, non-food goods by 0.40%, services 0.13%.

According to the CER, eggplant cheapened 42,30%, green beans 37.44%. Price of chicken eggs rose 13.93%, boneless beef - 3.76%, strawberry - 11.44%.

Annualised inflation reached 15.58%, in particular in Baku inflation was at 19.30% in the regions - 11.93%. The highest inflation was observed in food products - 26.61%. Non-food prices rose over the year by 3.68%, services - by 3.84%.

Consumer prices in the first half of 2011 rose 5.23%, including for foodstuff products - by 8.08%, non - 1.47%, services - 2.51%.
