Headed by Mexican Carlos Slim Helu, this year’s list has the largest total of billionaires, 1,210 ever recorded, and their wealth combined is unmatched at $4.5 trillion, Suite101 reported.

This will give you an idea of how rich some people on the list are: Mark Zuckerberg, the principle founder of Facebook,, is on the list, naturally, at 26. The man who they made the film The Social Network about is estimated by Forbes to have $13.5 billion. Not bad but he’s only 52nd on the list and the next highest of the six who founded the site is Dustin Moskovitz with $2.7 billion, good for 420th place.

The leader Slim Helu is a mobile phone mogul and he added 20,5 billion to his total last year alone, more than any other billionaire added, and sits atop at $74 billion. Bill Gates and the 80-year-old Warren Buffet are now well back in 2nd and 3rd with 56 and 50 billion bucks respectively. Gates may top a list of those who have given the most away to philanthropic causes.

Rounding out the list of the Top Ten billionaires on the planet earth are Bernard Arnault of France, Larry Ellison of the U.S., Lakshmi Mittal of India, Amancio Ortega of Spain, Eike Batista of Brazil, Mukesh of India and at $26.5 billion is the richest woman, Christy Walton of Walmart. Of the top ten Gates, Eillison and Batista are university dropouts while Ortega and Walton did not go to University at all.
