Baku - APA-Economics. Greece and Portugal would be better off “in the long run” if they didn’t share the euro, Slovak Finance Minister Ivan Miklos said in an interview for Hospodarske Noviny, Bloomberg reported.

The economies of the two nations and some other southern eurozone countries are not fit enough for Europe’s common currency, Miklos told the Czech newspaper.

The European Union hasn’t made enough progress in setting up rules for preventing future fiscal crisis and the resolution of the December summit to let the private sector share losses from 2013 isn’t sufficient, he also told the newspaper.
