Moscow. Roman Agayev – APA. Azerbaijan’s Finance Minister Samir Sharifov participated in the fourth session of the Permanent Conference of CIS Finance Ministers in Moscow.

APA’s Moscow correspondent reports that CIS ministers of economy and Central Bank heads also attended the session.

Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin called on his colleagues to strengthen mutual cooperation and financial support in commerce and finance. He said that CIS states experienced an unprecedented slump in the Gross Domestic Product in 2009.
“On the average GDP reduced by 7.5%, export by 46% and import by 43.5%. The reactions of CIS economies to the crisis were different. The economies of Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Armenia fell, while the economies of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan posted a certain growth,” he said.

Plan of joint measures on the state of national economies of CIS members, stabilization of their financial systems and elimination of global economic crisis was discussed at the session. The plan was approved at the Chisinau summit of CIS heads of state in October and confirmed at the Yalta meeting of the heads of government in November.

Chairman of CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev said the next session of the Permanent Conference of the CIS Finance Ministers will be held late in 2010 – early in 2011.
