Atabank to change Visa plastic cards design

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan based Atabank will change plastic cards’ design to vertical type cards within 2010.

Teymur Akhundov, the bank’s official told APA that these type of cards will be named as Visa Electron Vertical after the design change. “The main reason of the change in design of the cards is that customers prefer vertical type cards. By the end of the year about 13 000 Visa Electron Vertical cards will be made”, he noted.

Atabank is the first issuer of vertical plastic cards of Visa international payment system in CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).

The bank became an associative member of Visa international payment system in 2004, principal member in 2006.

Atabank was established in 1993. As of January 1, the bank posted assets at AZN 199.343 million, deposit portfolio at AZN 166.837 million, loan portfolio at AZN 127.388 million, total capital at AZN 25.130 million and authorized capital at AZN 15 million. The bank has 18 branches, 50 ATMs, 289 POS-terminals and 268 employees.
