Azerbaijan sees decline in bank assets

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of February 1, Azerbaijan-based commercial banks’ assets reached AZN 11 587.39 million, up 15% or AZN 1 504.29 million from a year ago. Central Bank of Azerbaijan said APA that this indicator decreased by 0.7% or AZN 77.78 million.

Loans to customers Stood at AZN 7 969.64 million (68.78%), correspondent accounts at AZN 851.24 million (7.35%), investment at AZN 851.24 million (7.35%), cash funds AZN 436.10 million (3.76%), deposits and loans to the financial sector at AZN 533.85 million (4.61%), and other assets at AZN 997.36 million (8.61%) of the total bank assets during this period.

Bank obligations accounted for 82.88% of AZN 9 603.60 million worth of liabilities.

Deposits made up AZN 4 192.16 million of the obligations, leaving AZN 4 508.60 million to loans and deposits from the financial sector and AZN 902.84 million to other obligations.

The banks’ total capital reached AZN 1 983.79 million as of February 1, 2010.
