Central Bank of Azerbaijan: Constancy of banking sector will be protected this year

According to him, at the moment Central Bank is thinking about preparing mechanism on the problematic debts of the banks in Azerbaijan and several stress-tests are being carried out in regard with that. â€œToday, the situation in banking sector is under control. Both capitalization and liquidity levels are quite high. We are working with different banks and stress-tests show that the constancy in banking sector in Azerbaijan will be kept steady in 2010â€, he noted.

The global financial crisis caused the situation of banking sector become worse. However Mr. Rustamov did not agree with the sense that the second wave of the crisis had had more negative influence on Azerbaijan. â€œCurrently the crisis processes are continuing and consequently influencing on Azerbaijan, nevertheless as we have enough macroeconomic indicators, we will manage to minimum this influenceâ€, he underlined.
