Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on February 14 on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. This was announced by Zelenskyy's spokesman, Serhiy Nikiforov, APA reports citing UNN news agency.
"A meeting with Rubio is scheduled for tomorrow," he said.
Ahead of the Munich Security Conference, Rubio announced his intention to meet with Zelenskyy, but on Friday he failed to show up for the Ukraine talks between Zelenskyy and European leaders in Germany. According to the Financial Times, one European official called the Secretary of State's absence from the event "insane." The newspaper assessed that Rubio's ignorance of the event was perceived in European capitals as evidence of "Washington's waning interest in participating in efforts to resolve the conflict" in Ukraine.
