Zelenskyy reveals if he'll seek second term

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not yet decided whether he will run for another term in the presidential elections, APA reports quoting RBC Ukraine.

For now, his focus lies elsewhere, according to an interview with President Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska.

During the interview, the First Lady was asked how she felt about the possibility that Zelenskyy might run for a second term.

"I believe that as a wife, I should support any decision he makes. Whether it's popular within our family or not is another issue. I think the second time won't be as scary as the first," Zelenska replied.

However, she admitted that she wouldn’t want to live "in such an emotional and physical state" forever. She emphasized that the beginning of the war was the most difficult period for her.

"From this perspective, I think this way: if elections begin, it means the active phase of the war has ended, which is already a positive sign. At that point, I won’t mind. I’ll support any decision and likely be happy," the First Lady added.

For his part, Zelenskyy highlighted that he does not discuss the question of running for a second term with his wife, as his current focus is on achieving victory, peace, and stability for Ukraine. This remains his top priority.

"I don’t know, I don’t know how the war will end. If I do more than I can, then I will probably look at it (running for office - ed.) more positively. That’s the only way I can answer. For me, this is not my focus today; it is not my goal today," he concluded.
