Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that regimes supplying drones to Russia must be halted, pointing directly to Iran's role in providing Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), APA reports, citing breakingthenews.net.
Zelensky says Ukraine in January alone, has had "to defend against 6000 attack drones, most of them Shahid drones".
He says his country will produce enough interceptor drones to make Shaheds "meaningless".
"They [the Iranian regime] must be stopped immediately," Zelensky said at the Munich Security Conference. He added that Ukraine has no border with Iran and no direct conflict with Tehran, yet continues to face deadly attacks from Iranian-made Shahed drones.
He warned that regimes like Iran'sthrive on violence, saying, "When they have time, they only kill more." Zelensky added that Ukraine now has more experience than any nation in defending against drone warfare.
