Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by a group of European politicians in an open letter addressed to the Nobel Committee, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The group asked for the nomination period to be extended until March 31 to allow for Zelensky and the people of Ukraine to be considered for the honor. The letter, which is open for signature until March 30, was already signed by 36 politicians from around Europe.
In order for the nomination to be taken under consideration, the Committee would have to wave the rule that states that all nominees had to be recommended for the prize before January 31.
