Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions on the creators of the animated series “Masha and the Bear.”
The sanctions prohibit the broadcast of the cartoon in Ukraine and provide for the blocking of its social media accounts in the country.
The sanctions list includes the Animaccord studio, its founder and CEO, as well as the series’ screenwriter, director, producer and co-author.
Under separate decrees signed by Zelensky, sanctions have also been imposed on 28 Russian citizens, 36 Russian companies and one Chinese company, as well as five enterprises belonging to the Rusal group and nine Russian nationals associated with them.
The measures include asset freezes in Ukraine, revocation of licenses, restrictions on the transfer of intellectual property rights, suspension of trade agreements and other limitations.
