Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on US President Donald Trump's administration to increase pressure on Russia to stop its intervention in Ukraine, APA reports.
Zelensky made this statement to reporters at the Munich Security Conference.
He said Congress should take measures to strengthen post-war security guarantees.
Zelensky said that only the United States has the political and financial power to stop the war.
"To be honest, today only Europe is defending Ukraine. Today only Europe is providing money and assistance to Ukraine. But only the United States can stop Putin," he said.
Zelensky also criticized the United States for trying to force Ukrainians to cede territories in Donbas without demanding any sacrifices from the Kremlin.
"There are some signals coming from the US, from President Trump. They say it's time for a compromise. We need to take steps forward. We have made many concessions. Putin and his friends are still not in prison. This is the biggest concession the world has ever made. We agreed to a ceasefire, and Putin refused," Zelensky added.
