Baku-APA. More than 40 passengers were slightly injured when two trams collided on Friday in central Sarajevo, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The collision, at a crossover near the U.S. Embassy, happened at around 14:00 local time (1300 GMT), police said, adding that the injured, including two drivers of the trams, were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Most of the passengers were released after check while a few of them stayed in the hospital for further treatment, police said.
Irfan Nefis, a spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, said investigators were trying to find the cause of the accident.
Some witnesses said the crash happened when one of the trams apparently ignored the red light and smashed into the other tram.
