In Kyiv, in the Darnytskyi district, as a result of a Russian attack, part of a multi-story building was literally blown away; people are being searched for under the rubble, including a 15-year-old girl and her family, UNN reports.
July 3 has been declared a Day of Mourning in the capital, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on social media on Thursday.
"It was a terrible night for Kyiv. The most massive Russian attack — the capital was hit with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and UAVs," the mayor wrote.
According to him, damage has been recorded in all districts of the city.
"The residential building in the Darnytskyi district suffered the most destruction. Part of the building was literally blown away. A search and rescue operation is ongoing there. People are being searched for under the rubble. Including a 15-year-old girl and her family," Klitschko stated.
"In total, as of now, 13 people are known dead and almost 90 injured," he noted. "At the ambulance substation, whose building was also damaged, 9 ambulances were damaged as well. Six station employees — medics and drivers — were injured."
"Tomorrow, July 3, has been declared a Day of Mourning in Kyiv. In memory of the victims of the most massive Russian attack on the capital," Klitschko reported.
On this day, flags will be lowered on all municipal buildings in the city. It is also recommended to lower state flags on buildings of state and private ownership. Any entertainment events are banned in the city on July 3, he noted.
