Baku-APASwedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt on Tuesday appointed Elisabeth Svantesson as the new labour minister in hope of boosting employment, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Swedish Daily News quoted Svantesson as saying that she intended to keep "an unemployment level as low as possible," but she also stressed that it's unlikely to bring the unemployment "down below 5 percent before the elections next fall."

Reinfeldt announced the changes when he presented in parliament Tuesday afternoon Statement of Government Policy, which lays out the direction of the government policy.

"We will continue to put jobs first. We want to restore the value of work and combat exclusion. The objective is full employment," said Reinfeldt.

Svantesson has been a member of Parliament since 2006. Since June 2012, she has been the chairman of the Parliamentary Labour Market.
