Baku-APA. Swedish Ambassador in Tirana Patrik Svensson affirmed Thursday that Sweden is a staunch supporter of accession of Albania, the whole Western Balkans and Turkey into to the European Union, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Svensson said that Sweden was looking forward to seeing a positive assessment in the forthcoming European Commission's progress report, due to be announced in mid-October, which would grant Albania the EU candidacy later this year.
The European Integration Minister of Albania Klajda Gjosha voiced the new government's commitment to advance the country's EU integration bid.
Gjosha and Svensson highlighted the importance of a positive political climate in the parliament and the cross-party dialogue and cooperation.
The two pledged to contribute towards deeper and enhanced relations between Albania and Sweden.
