Baku-APAA small plane crashed on Saturday noon near the southern German city of Coburg, killing three people on board, APA reports quoting DPA.

The twin-engine plane crashed into a wooded area near the village of Cortendorf. Any help came too late for the three passengers, a pilot from the city of Fuerth, a 46-year-old Coburger and his 31-year-old partner, local media Bavarian Radio cited police as reporting.

The plane was about to land in rain and fog when it crashed, according to witnesses.

Local police said that the plane had disappeared from radar in the morning. Finally, rescuers found the wreckage in a forest near the airfield of Coburg.

It is unknown why the crew did not evade to another airport to land considering the bad weather.
