Baku-APA. A group of Russian nationals detained in Montenegro for violations of a sojourn in the country will be expelled in the near future, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday, APA reports quoting TASS.

"On March 25, a group of foreign nationals numbering 60 - among them 55 are CIS citizens, including from Russia - were detained in Montenegro," the foreign ministry said. "Detention was based on the information available by Montenegro’s police about their possible involvement in the international organized crime."
"After questioning, the detainees were released and no charges were put to them," the ministry said.

"Taking into consideration that these foreign nationals’ sojourn in Montenegro was not registered in line with the required procedures, they should be deported from the country in the near future," it said.

Russia’s embassy to Montenegro was in constant contact with local authorities, aiming to protect Russians’ legal rights, the ministry noted.
