Baku – APA. Some 41 police officers, 2 servicemen and 47 civilians were killed during the attempted military coup in Turkey on July 15, said Umit Dundar, acting Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Commander of the First Army.
He noted that the military coup attempt has been suppressed, and 104 rebel soldiers were killed.
Asked by an APA’s correspondent “What does lie at the vulnerability of the General Staff that there was an attempt of a military coup, and the Chief of Staff and the army commanders were taken hostage?” Dundar replied. “This issue is still fresh. I do not consider it right to make comments in this regard. When the time comes we will comment on that, too.”
