Baku-APA. EU Foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said Wednesday that the EU position on the Syrian regime remained unchanged, APA reports quoting sputniknews.com.
She added that the European Union fully supports efforts by UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura in finding a political solution to Syria crisis.
Mogherini also said that she only discussed issues of the Syrian political process with the Damascus government delegation to the reconciliation talks.
The latest round of negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition forces kicked off on March 14 in Geneva and is due to recess on Thursday.
Mogherini arrived in Geneva to take part in negotiations earlier on Wednesday and met with the Damascus delegation and its head Bashar Jaafari.
Asked whether the issue of the anti-Syria economic sanctions was touched upon, Mogherini stressed that only the political process was discussed.
