Serbian incumbent President Aleksandar Vučić wins the presidential election, according to preliminary data from the Republican Electoral Commission (RIC), APA reports citing CMIO.
On April 3, Serbia held presidential elections, early elections of 250 deputies of parliament, as well as elections to local governments in the cities of Belgrade, Bor, and a dozen other municipalities. Over 6.5 million citizens had the right to vote. Voting took place from 7.00 local time to 20.00 in more than 8,000 polling stations within the country and 77 abroad.

According to the latest preliminary data from the REC, after processing about 97% of the ballots, Vucic receives 58.59% of the votes, his closest rival Zdravko Ponos has 18.32% of the votes. The Serbian leader had already declared victory in the first round on Monday night.
“Preliminary results have been approved,” Vladimir Dimitrievich, chairman of the REC, said after the announcement of the data and voting on Monday.
Turnout was over 58%.
The Serbian electoral committee previously registered 19 blocs of political parties and coalitions that are running for 250 seats in the Assembly. They had to overcome the threshold of 3% of the vote to enter the new convocation of parliament. Eight presidential candidates were running for the presidency, supported by one or more electoral blocs.
