The United States of America has appointed a new ambassador to Turkey after a two-year break, it is noted on the official Twitter page of the US Embassy in Turkey, APA reports.
“Last night the US Senate has approved David Satterfield as a new ambassador of the USA to Turkey. We look forward to welcoming him in the near future”, is written on Twitter.
Career ambassador David Satterfield has been nominated by the president of US Donald Trump in February.
Note that the post of US ambassador to Turkey was vacant since 2017. The last ambassador, John Bas, has carried out this position in 2014-2017.
