On Monday, August 24, the second stage of the latest prisoner exchange took place, RBC-Ukraine reports.
Ukraine brought home 10 service members who had previously been listed as missing in action, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence.
“Today, as part of a special stage of the exchange, we are bringing home 10 of our soldiers through Belarus. They are members of the Armed Forces and National Guard of Ukraine who defended the country in the Donetsk direction. All of them had been listed as missing in action. It is very important that we managed to bring them home,” the president said.
Zelenskyy also thanked everyone who continues to work on bringing Ukrainians home. He stressed that Ukraine remembers “everyone who remains in captivity.”
“We are searching for every single person by name. And we will do everything to free them and bring them home,” Zelenskyy said.
