UK: Russia must be forced to leave entire Ukraine

British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace told Sky News on Thursday that Russia should be forced to end its military intervention in Ukraine by leaving the entire territory of that country, including Crimea, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Wallace dismissed Russia's claims over Crimea and Donbass as "illegal," stressing that "that hasn't changed" and that "we are supporting Ukraine's sovereign integrity." Still, he noted that "there's a long way to go before Ukraine pushes into Crimea." Wallace also urged the international community to "help Ukraine resolve and actually remember the Minsk Agreement, which Russia has basically ripped up."

Commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin, Wallace estimated the latter has "always had these ambitions" to launch an operation in Ukraine and described him as an "ethnic nationalist." He also accused Putin of being "almost in desperation" and trying to extend the crisis outside of Ukraine by blaming Kiev for what he labeled as potentially false terrorist attacks in Transnistria in Moldova.
